Foreclosure - What is Going to Happen?
Usually after 3 months of not making payments the foreclosure process begins.
A Notice of Default ( N.O.D. ) filed at the local county recorders office is the first step of foreclosure.
The Foreclosure Process takes 111 days here in California.
You may have been mailed a notification that the foreclosure process has begun.
It is not a condition of foreclosure to to delivered a notification.
If you sit and wait and do nothing, as far too many do, you can simply count the days.
Approximately 21 days before the end, posters put all over your doors or windows, notices of Foreclosure.
On or after the 111 days someone else will usually own the property.
It would be wise to verify that the property has been transferred at the local county recorders office in your property's county before you abandon it.
If you stay in the property after you no longer own the property someone will evict you. It is wise to work with the new owners be they a bank or a person and plan to leave willingly and quickly and avoid eviction.
You have other options. Foreclosure is usually not the best option.
If you have questions, I am here to help you. I am not here to assist a bank in collecting their debt.
