Government Help
There are some counseling services that do offer Government help. They can be found at www.hud.gov
I personally have not seen much in the way of Government help as promised by the Obama in his speeches.
www.whitehouse.gov
I have not seen any type of intervention, laws, bills to become law that will stop foreclosures. However I hear it in the media almost weekly.
Unfortunately that is about the extent of Government help.
I will say that HUD.gov is usually good to help you get a loan mod if you are currently working.
Keep in mind,....
Your loan is a contract between you and your lender which you promised to pay or they would foreclose. The government can not change this.
If you have received a post card about a Notice of Default or know you are in default here in Southern California, You should consider your options ASAP and move forward in one way or another as time is running out.
Read this site for your options and choose a direction and run with it.
Be careful of scams like investors trying to convince you to sell you your property on a LLC or some weird contract. Remember Licensed Real Estate Agents / Brokers are licensed and regulated by the state of California.
When a Real Estate Broker Realtor Lists you home for sale, they do not get paid until the closing of the home, out of the proceeds of the home. This means for the most part, no out of pocket costs.
If your home is upside down, owe more than it is worth, I suggest you go to the upside down page and review your options with a Real Estate Attorney and a CPA. There are future implications and knowing your options is a great start.
As a California Licensed Real Estate Broker, I can get your home sold as a "short sale" and in part, ask the lender to accept less than what is owed on the loan.
I am here to help you, You are welcome to call me 9am to 6pm 7 days a week 951 821 8211 Harold
